Yay! Anything Goes!

Hey Everyone,
This weeks theme is Anything Goes over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge!  Yahoo!  I've been working on a couple things that I would love to share and hopefully grant me some goodies!
On a side note, the weather up here in the Great White North has us definitely living up to the title!  Yesterday my daughters and I made an igloo in the backyard and this morning on the walk to school it was a viable winter wonderland outside.  Snow lined trees and everything!  We got about 15cm of white stuff (the cool-but heavy-packing snow kind).  Gorgeous!

Soooooo...onto my creation!

Friends of mine had a sweet baby boy.  Their first child and no doubt they are excited!  Here is a card I made for the little guy!  The round stamp is from Technique Tuesday and the Onesie die is from MFT.  The family border punch is from Martha Stewart.  The father of the little guy inspired this card.  He is quite the snazzy dresser and always comes into work (or otherwise) so well put together.  I hope this vest and tie combo suits his tastes!  I actually surprised myself that I still knew how to tie a double Windsor...especially a teenie-weenie one.  I used to wear ties (voluntarily) with my school uniform in highschool.  Just my little way of adding unique-ness to an otherwise mundane outfit...but that's another story. :)

Thanks for dropping by!

Greeting Farm is worth Die-ing for...

Hey All,
We have some contractors in the home today putting stone facing on our double sided fireplace.  It's getting pretty dusty around here but I managed to squeak in a little creative moment to make a card for my daughter's friend's birthday.  The die cuts are the flourish behind the coloured stamp as well as the label housing the sentiment.  Loving the spring feel of this card despite the snow blowing around outside.

I'd like to submit this card to this week's The Greeting Farm Farm Fresh Friday Challenge-Using Dies.
Stay Warm everyone!

Webster's Pages and some Really Cool Stamps!

So I was poking around on Facebook, and saw a post from Scrapbook and Cards Today which enlightened me to some new stamps coming out from Webster's Pages (who has teamed up with Allison Kreft) which are awesome!  I'm a photography, scrapbooking, memory making buff so to me it's like these stamps were custom made!  I'm sooooo stoked to get my hands on these!
But what would be better then getting these stamps would be winning them!!! So here I am.  Telling the interweb about these cool things and spreading the word in hopes of winning!  Y'all can try and win too but going here.  (and I really only said that last sentence with very little umph due to it possibly decreasing my chances of winning...but I'm a good sport so there you go!) ;)

Wish me luck!

Another Card to Die for!

Hey All!

I'm a wee bit behind on posting my creations from the rest of the Clean and Simple Cards 2 awesome classes.  But I'd like to share something that I put together for this past lovey dovey day inspired by the folks over at The Greeting Farm and their Farm Fresh Friday Challenge.  This week the challenge is using dies in your cards.  Like I said before.  I love this combo!  For this card I used a Spellbinders Labels die to make the window.  This card is called a "swing" card since the window panel swings around for the surprise inside.  I used Hero Arts stamps for the background and the sentiments.  The front heart sticker label is from Making Memories and the adorable stamp on the inside is from The Greeting Farm.  I can't tell you how many of these stamps I have and I love each and every one.  Each personality is adorable and totally relevent to people in my life.  Love it!

On a side note.  Here's my little story for today.  The other day I went to the clinic to get some bloodwork done.  I got there around 10am and the waiting room was packed!  I took a number and sat down.  I was number 21.  They had just called 8.  Ugh!  I did, however, come prepared and began to take out my crocheting and continued to work on a hat I was making for the wonderful group of ladies I volunteer with ("Hats of To Liz").  A sweet mentally challenged woman sat next to me wearing head phones and I could hear her music blaring through them.  After a few minutes she leaned over and said (in a rather loud voice for her surroundings), "That hat looks great.  I wish I could do that."  I looked over at her a little startled at her volume and motioned for her to take off the headphones.  She complied and smiled and then continued to speak at an elevated volume.  "Did you see that lady in the corner over there?  She has really big hands."  I smiled politely, suppressed the laugh that stirred in my belly and in a lower voice I answered sincerely, "I didn't notice."  I looked at her as she said this and she smiled a really big sweet smile and replied, "I bet she gives really great hugs!"  That was the best response.  I certainly hope that lady in the corner heard her!

Clean and Simple 2 Online Card Class: Bonus Day

So, I had an interesting incident happen in church this weekend.  My daughter's pearl bracelet that she made at a birthday party broke spilling pearls all over the pew in front of us and all over the floor.  Of course this had to happen during a solemn and quiet moment so the sound of pearls rolling all over the place seemed to echo throughout the whole church.  A little embarrassing but what I found quite special was all the people surrounding us made special effort throughout the rest of the mass to find and pick up all the fallen pearls and deliver them to my daughter with a smile.  Thanks to all those who helped.

The Bonus Day class at Clean and Simple Cards 2: Using Dies.  I LOVE Dies!  I have quite of few of them and I am always up for inspiration to use them.  Here is one of my creation for this bonus day:
I used Spellbinders new window die and a Technique Tuesday Stamp.  I also used a Simon Says Stamp Die and Stamp set for the sentiment.

This is the inside of the card.
I'll be creating and posting more soon!  Thanks for stopping by!

Clean and Simple 2 Online Card Class: Day 5 - 1 Stamp, 3 Ways

So Day 5 of the Class was 1 stamp 3 ways.  Love this idea!  It's been a busy last couple of days so I didn't get as much crafting in as I had hoped.  I originally decided to use a texture stamp that could be used in sooooo many different ways.  I then decided to challnge myself and use a stamp that doesn't necessarily lend itself to more obvious variation.  My creative juices stalled but I did come up with 3 different ways to use it and focused on the technique to change things up.  Here are my 3 takes!
This card was white embossed and then inked
over with Distress Inks and pearlized water.
.

This card was stamped in white ink on kraft cardstock
and then the queen part was paper pieced.

This card was stamped and colour added with Stickles
and then embellishehd with metal circle tags.

I used a stamp from Tim Holtz' Valentine Blueprints Stamp Set.
I would also like to enter these in this weeks Simon Says Stamp Challenge-Anything Goes!
