A Welcome Christmas Card Making Distraction

Hey Blog world,

Just sharing a little something I made for my daughter's BFF.  It was her birthday and so I made a little card to celebrate the occasion.  C2 and her friend both LOVE penguins and since I just happened to have these stamps out for the Christmas Card making season I decided to put them on her card.  It's a shame that most (if not ALL) of the penguin stamps I have are Christmas themed but I managed to make these little cuties look more like they're wearing birthday hats instead of Santa hats (I hope).
sentiment stamps: Hero Arts; background stamps: Hero Arts; penguin stamp: Wild Rose Studio ; banner die: Simon Says Stamp; inks: Distress Inks

These little guys make me smile!  So cute and cuddly!  You can be sure these little dudes will make another appearance in some Christmas cards this year!

I would like to submit this to the following blogs:
Sister Act Anything Goes Card Challenge:#85
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmakers and More: #128-Distress it

Loving the Anything Goes!

Hey Blogworld!

Autumn is in full swing here in my neck of the woods.  Loving all the beautiful colours....not loving the feeling that snow is creeping its way into town (a little to soon for my taste!).

Here is a card I made for my husband's father's birthday this month!  Always love to add photos to the cards for the family.  Love looking back and seeing how much my girlies have grown (and I know the grandparents love to as well!).

Patterned papers: MME, Sentiment Stamp: Paper Smooches!

I would like to submit this to the following challenges!
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Anything Goes
Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge: Anything Goes

Don't forget there is still time to head over toe 123 Get Scrappy to join in this month's scrapbook challenge!

Challenge #15 Bingo Board Goodness Up and Running!

Hey Blogworld,

Another bingo board is up and running over at 123 Get Scrappy!

See if you can guess the theme of this month's board! (It took a while before I realized it!).

While I was going through my crazy overload of pictures to scrapbook I came across these photos from a few years back and knew I had to preserve this memory.  How adorable and so very wonderful Nonno and Nonna are!  I am truly blessed to be a part of their family!  They would do anything for my daughters (and Nonno isn't exactly your 'softy type').  It's a big deal that he let them do this makeover for him...and I know he'd let them do it over and over again!

Here is my take:
I used Tim Hotlz crackle paint for the 'hair' part after masking the word with stickers.

I used the top row: Pink-Plaid-Peace

I can't wait to see what you create!  Be sure to head on over to 123 Get Scrappy and link up your project for a chance to win a guest design spot!

You have until the end of the month!  Looking forward to seeing what you create!

Operation Scraproom: Still Under Construction...

Hey Everyone,
Boy will I ever be happy when my scrappy room is finally up an running.  Shelves are on the walls and desks and other furnitures are all in their proper place but I've got a TONNE of supplies that need to be weeded through and organized.  It doesn't help that I went to a scrapbook store Garage Sale on the weekend and got a bunch more stuff to add to the stash!  But no regrets!  Some wicked awesome deals to be had!  Anyways, my point is that I despite the condition of my creative space at the moment I still managed to scrounge together some of my available materials and put together a birthday card for my BIL.  I used a Sketch #107 from Sketchabilities as my spring board to jump from.  The rest was scraps found in my scrap drawer.  Happy to be witting this bin down (little by little!)
Sentiment stamp: PTI, jewel flourishes: Recollections

I always love added photos to my cards for family.  Love to look back on them and see how my girlies have changed!

I'd like to submit this to the following blogs:

123 Get Scrappy Challenge #14 Up and Running!!

Hey Everyone!

Woooohoooo!  Another month means another challenge up and running over at 123 Get Scrappy!  The September board is sure to spark some inspiration (as they always do!).

Here is my creation!

I used the diagonal: Lots of Leaves: Brown Background: Long Title

And here is the Bingo Board for your creative pleasure:
Unfortunately crafting has been a scarce activity these last couple of weeks.  We had windows replaced throughout the house and a lot of the rooms had to be turned upside down and/or emptied to make room for the window installers and their equipment.  Of course this led to some redecorating endeavours which have yet to be completed.  One of those such rooms is my craft room.  All my stuff is packed away in boxes or under piles of other stuff making it hard to get any fun stuff done!  Working on limited supplies this week...but iz all good...all the more creative spark required!  Need that every now and then!  :D

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team over at 123 Get Scrappy and I hope to see your creations!

I'd also like to submit this to the following blog:
Scrap our Stash #18-"Back to School"-(A) graph paper, (B) alphas, pen, file folder (used to make the tag)

SSS Kid's Vacation Challenge

Hey blog world!

My little C2 has been waiting for a kids challenge!  She was quite excited when Simon Says Stamp's Kids Vacation Challenge came along. It took a while for her to decide what she wanted to make her scrapbook layout on.  Once she figured that out she was unstoppable.  The 'make-a-layout-with-mommy' routine commenced.  She flipped through a binder I have full of sketches (mostly Page Maps) and she picked the one she wanted to do.  Then she went to my scrap paper drawers and picked out her patterned papers.  Once the bulk of that was done she added her embellies and boy was I quite impressed with what she wanted to have.  I'm pretty proud of her little creation and so is she!  (As my dad always says: "The coconut doesn't fall far from the coconut tree!")

Here's her creation.

Love her little Greeting Farm stamp and butterfly embellishments.  Not to mention the embossed baseball die-cute she aligned along the side.

Great job Miss C2!  Love ya!

Thanks for stopping by!

All Good Things....(*sniff*)

Hey Everyone,

This post is bittersweet.  I'm happy to announce that Twisted Tuesday Challenges has another fun challenge up and running.  But I'm very sad that it will be the last challenge for out little challenge blog (*WAHHHHHH!!!!!*).
I have been so very blessed to have been able to participate as a DT member.  Melina reached to out a passionate paper crafter with no DT experience and gave me a chance and I am forever grateful.  I LOVED the opportunity to (hopefully) inspire you out there and get those creative juices flowing.

As the great Albert Einstein put it:

Creativity is contagious...
PASS IT ON!

I hope we have been able to help pass on the creativity.  I know I've enjoyed seeing your creations.  Never stop creating!

Challenge: Use Chevrons on your creation.
The Twist: Use ribbon

Here's my creation:
sentiment and jukebox stamp: Paper Smooches; embossing folder: Cuttlebug; Chevron die: Avery Elle

The funny thing about this card is that I literally made it out of scrap bits I found literally lying around my craft room which was all taken apart because we had windows replaced and everything in the house was turned upside down!  definitely some creativity was required to take what minimal stuff I had at my disposal and turn it into something worthy of the LAST Twisted Tuesday Challenge (*sniff*)
I love music and I've always love the idea of having an authentic Wurlitzer Jukebox grace my home.  I haven't got one yet but I'm still holding out for one!!

As well as the #67 colour scheme and twist over at Colour me Scrappy

Be sure to check out the other DT members over at Twisted Tuesday Challenges:

They have some great inspiration to share.  Its been a pleasure being a part of a group of such talented  ladies!!  Don't forget to drop them a line or two as well!  We're all very sad to have to leave.

I can't wait to see what you create!

I'd also like to submit this to the following blogs:

A full year of Bingo Board Inspiration!

Hey Everyone!

Another challenge is up and running over at 123 Get Scrappy!  This month marks a whole YEAR of bingo board inspiration!  SOOOOOO happy to be a part of it!  So much inspiration and so much creativity sparked over the year!  Here's hoping for many more years of more of the same!  YAAAAAY!  I hope you all will join us and use the bingo board to create a fabulous layout!  I can't wait to see what you've created!

Here's my creation.

patterned papers: DCWV; date stamp, soccerball stamp: Technique Tuesday; letters: Making Memories; star embossing folder: Cuttlebug, image stamp: The Greeting Farm; grass edge punch: Fiskars, markers: Copics

I've been meaning to scrap these pictures for a while!  I refrained from deleting them from my phone as a reminder that I need to put this moment in a layout!  I love that my daughters love playing sports as much I do.  Although soccer ended up not being C1s favourite I always loved watching her play.  This was definitely one of my favourite games to have watched: "Delay of game due to pig on the field!".

I kept this layout pretty simple with the straight lines and patterned paper blocks.  (My engineering hubby would be very proud!).  It's a little hard to see but I added some glittery goodness to her hair band and jersey using a Wink of Stella glitter pen.  I also love the metallic sparkle of the gold paper I used to emboss the stars.  Co cool!

Here is the bingo board!  I used the diagonal: STARS-GRASS-STRIPES

Be sure to join in all the fun over at 123 Get Scrappy!!!!

I also used the #67 colour inspiration and twist over at ColorMeScrappy this month!

I would also like to submit this to the following blog:

Twisted Tuesday Challenges: School Supplies and White Space

Hey Everyone,

Such a fun summer in my neck of the woods!  On the paper crafting goodness front, Twisted Tuesday Challenges has a new challenge up and running.

The Challenge: Include some sort of "school supply item(s)" in your creation.
The Twist: Leave a lot of white space on your creation

Here's my take:
Patterned paper: various scraps, MME; large pencil sticker: American Crafts; embossing folder: Sizzix; book stack/crayon stickers: Jolee's;  star frame stickers: Unknown; letter stickers: Making Memories;

One of the things I LOVE about taking this time to stay at home and be there for my family is the opportunity I get to volunteer at my daughters' school.  I have the chance to read with them, see them with their friends, meet many of their school friends and teachers and contribute to their school environment.

I used a colour scheme (and challenge #67) from the folks over at Color Me Scrappy

I also used a sketch over at the Page Maps blog.

On the family front, I finally got a camping trip in this summer despite my hubby's propensity AGAINST camping.  Admittedly it was more of a "glamping" type of excursion as we weren't really roughing it...merely sleeping in a tent accompanied with the rest of the comforts of home: indoor plumbing, full kitchen facilities, a pool and a nearby lake to go canoeing in.  That's what you get when you camp with some friends on their parents' farm.  Good times!!!  (Even though we experienced a freak hail storm in the afternoon on the first day!  It was unlike anything I've ever experienced!)  Our tent didn't hold up so well after being pelted by the torrential rain and the subsequent hail.  Water leaked in and we were forced to sleep in the house the first night (hard life, I know!) :)
Anyways, the second night was much nicer and cool but definitely comfortable tent-sleeping weather.  the family had a great time!  Here's to more of the same!

I would also like to submit the layout to the following blogs:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes
Scrap it Girl: August Challenge: Arrows/Numbers (numbers on background embossing)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please be sure to check out the details of the Twisted Tuesday Challenge over at the blog and peruse the rest of the DT for some inspiration!  Hope to see your creations!
Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas In July....with a Twist!

Hey Everyone!

I'm a wee bit late posting this entry but Twisted Tuesday challenges has a brand new challenge up and running!  It's a great jump start to get those Christmas projects done and ready (after all, Christmas is only 155 days away!) (tee hee!)

Here are the details:
The challenge: Create a Christmas Themed creation
The twist: use and evergreen bow or tree(s) in your creation.

Here's my take!
The sentiment and Penguin stamps: There She Goes; branches punch: Martha Stewart; banner die: Simon Says Stamp; embossing folder: Provocraft/Cuttlebug

I used pencil crayons to colour the ornaments in the embossed parts.  Haven't used pencil crayons in a while.  My daughter had them out to colour something she was working on and I thought, "why not!".

Be sure to check out the other creations from the Twisted Tuesday Design team!  You're sure to be inspired!

I can't wait to see what you create!

I would also like to submit this to the following:

123 Get Scrappy....with a twist!

Hey Everyone,

Us over at 123 Get Scrappy have a new challenge up and running for ya and it's a bit different than you have been used to.  It's a colour challenge!  I stumble a bit with colour challenges but I think for that reason I also LOVE to do them because it challenges my creative muscles and I'm usually rather pleased with the results!  I hope you all feel the same and will play along this month!

Here's what emerged from my grey matter:
patterned paper: DCWV, Recollections; flowers: Prima; circle journalling stamp: See'Ds; filmstrip punch: EK Success; Stencil: Tim Hotlz; Letter stickers: Making Memories, date stamp: Technique Tuesday.

There is quite the 'looking-back-on-it-now-it's-pretty-funny' story behind these photos and this incident in Vegas shared by my BFF and my sister.  I gave a teaser part of the story in the journalling circles but the rest of the story I continued on the back of the layout.  I debated in telling the whole story (going on the "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" premise), but I knew for my memories' sake, I wanted the story documented.  ;)

Challenge #12 from 123 Get Scrappy is here!  I used the bottom row: Turquoise/Aqua; Gold; Pink

I also based the layout on Sketch #118 from Sketchabilities.
I would also like to submit this to the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Let's Be Clear (Clear Jewels, clear glitter-embossed papers)
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Start from Scratch (layout started with plain white background and added layers and papers to create)
Scrap Our Stash Challenge #16: Lets Go Shopping (wash tape:Zebra print; dimensional stickers: 'vegas' letters; 2 or more punches: film strip, tag; 3 or more flowers; striped paper)

Be sure to head on over to 123 Get Scrappy and check out the other DT members' inspiration.

Can't wait to see what you've created!

Twisted Tuesday #80-Pearls are sooooo heavy!

Hey Everyone,

New challenge up and running over at Twisted Tuesday Challenges!  It's only been 1 week having all 3 kid lets home all day and it's been quite the adjustment but nothing too crazy.  They've actually been more amiable to doing chores around the house and have been very helpful in that respect.  #3 however, is another story (she always is!).  Still running around all crazy and loud!  Give me strength!

Anyhow, here's the deal the fortnight over at Twisted Tuesday!
Challenge: Use pearls on your creation
Twist: Use a lot of layers on your creation!

Here's my take:
Patterned paper: MME, unknown; date stamp: Hero Arts; image stamp: The Greeting Farm; dress form die: Sizzix; pearls: Recollections, Prima.

I originally wanted to use the dress form for just the dress for this fashion show layout but I thought it just wasn't 'cute' enough since the pictures (at least to me) were off the charts adorable.  So I decided to add a cute little face (and arms) to the bodice to turn it into what I had pictured in my head.  I realize lately that in my last few creation I've been crazy on the patterned paper.  I keep digging up some really pretty stuff in my craft room and at just the right time for just the right project.  These high heeled shoes were perfect for this layout!  I digitally fixed the photos a bit to showcase my little C3 and tone down the messy background (definitely not what I want noticed!).

Be sure to drop by the Twisted Tuesday Challenges challenge blog and check out the creations from the whole design team.  I hope you play along as well!  Can't wait to see what you create!

I would like to submit this to the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge:  Start from Scratch (the little paper doll embellishment)
The Greeting Farm-Farm Fresh Friday: Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp: Work it Wednesday

Thanks for stopping by!
