It never ceases to amaze me how life works out. Anyone who knows me or has ever known me knows that I'm a tomboy through and through. Since I was a kid I've always loved wearing boy clothes, playing sports, getting dirty, play-fighting and would ALWAYS choose cars and Star Wars stuff over dolls and princesses anyday! VERY rarely would you ever catch me wearing a skirt or dress (usually only for a wedding-type event) and (up until recently) I steered clear of anything pink! I relished in the times when I was the only girl hanging with/keeping up/sometimes surpassing all the boys and their "boy fun"
....and then life gives me 3 GIRLS!
Three incredibly smart, beautiful, sweet, thoughtful, creative, fun GIRLY GIRLS! Complete with pink EVERYTHING, princess passion and an attraction for all things frilly, lacy, dressy, glittery, flowery and pretty. Not much going on in the "boy theme" in our home (although hubby has managed to get the girls interested in F1 racing, home improvement shows and watching hockey!). I am determined to get my girls involved in sports and my girls love soccer and baseball (complete with pink soccer shoes and ball, pink baseball shoes, pink bat and pink glove). Admittedly, I'm not as adverse to pink anymore or frilly or wearing dresses and skirts. I will watch princess shows and play princess dress up and buy pink Lego and I do actually enjoy it. I guess it took giving birth to 3 girls to bump up the estrogen level in my body. For the record, I embrace it! Life is full of change and change is GOOD. :D
As I'm perusing the inter -web these last few days I'm finding that there are many challenges online for the month of June themed towards those possessing the "Y" chromosome. YAY! Loving the inspiration (and the motivation) to create something the childhood me (and really still part of the real me) would LOVE. Alot of ideas swimming in my head. Let's hope I can find the time to get them out!
Here's one (with colours inspired by my front door)
|The image is from the Greeting Farm, the sentiment is from Technique Tuesday and the frame is from PTI.|
This card is all CAS. Mostly 1 layer (not including the frame). I masked the banner with a cut out sticky note and coloured the image with Copics.
For reference sake (and as requested by the folks over at Less is More this week) here is my front door.
I would like to submit it to the following challenges:
The Greeting Farm-Farm Fresh Friday-Oh Boy
Simon Says Stamp-Anything Goes
Sister Act Card Challenge-Anything Goes #9
Whimsy Stamps Challenge-Anything Goes
CAS on Sunday-Challenge #9 Make it Masculine
Paper Crafting Journey-Masculine
Less is More: Week 122-Colour of your Front Door
